Climate objectives

The business sector's practices are crucial for advancing the green transition and combating global climate change. At Eva Solo, we are committed to developing climate goals and action plans to reduce our CO2 footprint.

A data-based approach to CO2eq reductions

Our production of hardware and furniture is responsible for the majority of our carbon footprint. Therefore, we need to work in a targeted and data-based way to reduce the CO2eq footprint of our products. The first step in this direction has been to calculate life cycle analyses (LCA) on all our hardware products. An LCA takes into account the CO2eq footprint from the moment a material is extracted until the finished product is disposed of.

Eva Solo uses the software from MÅLBAR to perform self-assessments on the CO2eq footprint of products. The tool calculates the total carbon footprint of products based on the world's largest climate database - Ecoinvent. The carbon footprint shows the total amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the product's lifecycle from raw material to retailer. The calculations

are calculated in accordance with the EU Product Environmental Footprint (EU PEF) rules.

We need to use the tool in the design process, as it allows us to calculate potential carbon footprints before the product is produced and thereby adjust e.g. production country, design or material type so that we can design a less carbon-intensive product.

Read more about our carbon footprint and see our climate accounts for 2022/23 in our CSR report, which can be accessed here.
