Pots and pans

  • How do I clean cookware with a non-stick coating so the food doesn’t stick?

Cookware with a non-stick coating should always be cleaned using a soft brush/sponge and washing-up liquid. It is important that the pan is properly cleaned each time after use.

If the non-stick coating darkens over time, it is due to a thin layer of burnt egg white from the food.

This can easily be removed by filling the pan with water, adding 4-5 tablespoons of washing powder (for clothes) and allowing the solution to simmer for approx. 45 minutes. Stir occasionally with a washing-up brush or nylon spatula. Repeat if necessary. Then, using washing-up liquid, clean the cookware, before finally wiping a thin layer of vegetable oil around the inside.

  • Can I keep food in non-stick cookware?

Avoid leaving food to stand in non-stick cookware for long periods of time as it may damage the coating. Any acid in the food will eat into the pan

  • Why do small white marks appear on my cookware?

Small white marks can appear on the cookware if you add salt to the water before it starts to boil. Salt is an alkali which can corrode the material. It may be difficult to remove these marks if the corrosion has caused heavy pitting of the material.

  • Why does the inside of my cookware become rainbow-coloured?

Sometimes, the inside of a steel pot or pan may acquire a rainbow hue. This usually results from salt and acids in foods and can easily be removed with steel polish.

  • Why does food stick (pots and pans without SLIP-LET® coating)?

It is a well-known fact that many people only fry food on the highest temperature setting. This uses far too much energy. Using a thick-bottomed pan for frying saves energy and thus money. Heat the pan, add some fat, and once the fat has turned brown and reached the right temperature, place the meat in the pan. As soon as the fat begins to bubble and spit, turn down the heat slightly. When turning the meat, if the fat is still bubbling and spitting turn down the heat to the lowest setting. The meat can now finish frying with the heat from the frying pan and the heat source.

  • Why does the surface of my Dura Line cookware become faded/matt?

If the outside of the cookware becomes matt or milk white, it is a sign that the cookware has been in the dishwasher. The aluminium surface of Eva Trio Dura Line is not dishwasher-safe.

As long as the surface is only slightly matt, it may be possible to “re-establish” the grey colour by wiping some liquid scouring cream onto the side and allowing it to stand for a while. Then rinse it off. Use the soft side of a combined scouring pad/sponge, and always rub using horizontal movements, following the structure of the material.

Glasses and wine

  • Which program should I use to wash glasses in the dishwasher?

All Eva Solo glasses are dishwasher-safe, and the the glass will retain its unique brilliance. However, it is preferable if your dishwasher has a special glass program (low temperature).

  • Why do my glasses go cloudy in the dishwasher?

It is best not to leave glasses standing in the dishwasher once the wash program has finished. This is because the humidity in the machine can cause the glass to deteriorate.

If your glasses are cloudy or look as though they have been used to drink milk, it may be due to wear or because too much detergent and rinse aid have been used. It is possible to remove the film by placing the glasses in hot water with acetic acid (200 ml of 32% acetic acid for every 1 l of water). You could also try tipping some citric acid into the machine and washing the glasses at the highest possible temperature.
