SAVOYE TABLES

The beauty of responsible manufacturing

When you choose a table from the Savoye range, you are not only investing in timeless design and quality craftsmanship but also in furniture made with respect for natural resources.

In modern manufacturing, sustainability is the No. 1 challenge. We have a responsibility to create products that are long-lasting, recyclable, and eco-friendly. At Eva Solo, we strive to source the best materials based on their quality, lifespan, and ability to have positive impact on responsible manufacturing.

The Savoye range is a prime example of this. The range consists of an elegant collection of coffee tables and side tables in various sizes and designs. With careful consideration of the properties of the materials, the manufacturing processes and their environmental impact, these tables have been developed as a sustainable and eco-aware alternative that does not compromise on quality and aesthetics.

The Savoye table tops are either made of FSC®-certified oak or 100 percent natural ceramic. Both materials have been chosen for their eco-friendliness, durability, and exclusive look. The table legs and frame are made of recycled aluminium, which gives the tables a contemporary and airy touch.

FSC®-certified wood

The Savoye tabletops in solid oak are FSC®-certified. This is your guarantee that the wood comes from forests that are managed responsibly. The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international non-profit, membership-led organisation that ensures respect for the forest's natural regeneration, and protection of its flora and fauna.

FSC® contributes to 14 of the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals, including those targeting climate action, biodiversity conservation and social responsibility. Among other things, they ensure that forest workers receive proper training, safety equipment, and fair wages.

FSC®-certified is produced in conformity with strict standards. This contributes to long-term forest health and growth. By choosing an FSC®-certified product like the Savoye tables, you are supporting sustainable forest management that respects both the environment and the associated communities.

Ceramic table tops

If you are looking for a tabletop made of organic materials that are not wood, marble or granite, ceramic table tops are an obvious choice.

Ceramic table tops are made from a combination of minerals, including sand, feldspar, clay and natural colour pigments. The mixture is pressed and baked at about 1200 degrees. All the minerals used are 100 percent natural and can be recycled without the addition of adhesive or other synthetic components.

The Savoye range ceramic table tops are not only beautiful and natural; they are also some of the most durable on the market. The decorative surface is scratch and heat resistant, resistant to acidic liquids and is easy to clean and maintain – the table typically wipes clean with ordinary soap and water.

Recycled aluminium

The Savoye table legs and frames are made of aluminium – a metal that adds great value to the product in both the use and recycling phases. Aluminium combines low weight with high strength and excellent corrosion resistance, resulting in lightweight, robust table frames with a long lifespan.

We only use recycled aluminium for our Savoye tables. The recycled material is just as strong and durable as virgin aluminium but has significantly better CO2 efficiency.

When aluminum is recycled through remelting, 95 percent of the energy needed to produce new virgin metal is saved. This significantly reduces the climate impact of primary manufacturing.

By choosing recycled aluminum, we are not only saving energy, but also protecting the planet’s limited resources. Aluminium can be remelted repeatedly without losing its strength or durability. In fact, as much as 75% of all the aluminium ever produced is still in use today.

Aesthetics, function, and modularity

Rene Hougaard, the designer behind the Savoye range, has established himself as one of Scandinavia's most trusted and sought-after furniture designers. Through his innovative design studio, ARDE Design Studio, he takes a unique, holistic approach to the design process by considering the entire product value chain.

The inspiration for the Savoye range comes from an iconic source: Villa Savoye. This building, designed by architect Le Corbusier, and located on the outskirts of Paris, is considered one of the 20th century's most significant contributions to modern architecture, and a defining example of the International Style.

In tribute to Villa Savoye's functionalism, Hougaard designed a table that unites aesthetics, function, and construction. The Savoye range is characterised by its modularity. Whether you’re looking for a single coffee table, multiple side tables or a complex arrangement for your living room, the Savoye range offers a flexibility that allows you to create unique setups to meet your specific needs.

The Savoye tables are available in several different sizes and shapes. A common feature of the tables is the considered choice of materials as well as the rounded, organic design. With their carefully balanced and understated design, the Savoye tables lends a harmonious and timeless atmosphere to any interior.
