Designing a new nutcracker can be a hard nut to crack – one would assume that the nutcracker design had long since been "perfected" after so many years of experience. Even the new nutcrackers launched on the market today resemble existing models – Of course you can’t improve the nutcracker design, sceptics would probably say.
However, this is not the way of thinking of the designers behind the EVA SOLO products, Claus Jensen and Henrik Holbæk, who set out to make a new and improved version of the conventional nutcracker.

And this they succeeded in doing. The designer duo has created a strikingly simple nutcracker which can be used by all ages from 5 to 105. It consists of a hammer, a highly polished stainless steel bowl and an effective rubber sound-proofer. Place the nut in the bowl. Hit it with the hammer, and open it cracks – It could not be simpler. The energy from the hammer is transferred to the shell, and the sound-proofer ensures the perfect cracking of the nut every time – with a minimal use of force. The shells are collected in the bowl so that the pieces do not go everywhere when the nut is cracked.

The nutcracker, or the nut hammer as the new EVA SOLO product is called, takes all types and sizes of nut – even difficult Brazil nuts give in to this new nut hammer. The handle of the hammer is "of course" made of the finest walnut to enhance the exclusive look of the product.
