Time for tea brewer

Over the past decade there has been considerable focus on drinking various exotic types of coffee, but now the trend is changing. In New York, the brown beans and coffee bars are being overtaken by tearooms serving several varieties of this ancient cultural beverage from the East. Here, tearooms have also become part of the street scene and interest in this noble drink is seeing a sharp increase among Danes.

The perfect cup of tea
Compared to a quick cup of espresso or a takeaway coffee, tea is “slow”: a drink to enjoy and savour. EVA SOLO’s new tea brewer focuses on this enjoyment. You can make tea in two different ways depending on whether you like tea with or without tannin. The jug features a patented filter system which guarantees the best result. Herbal tea leaves are tipped directly into the flask so the tea can infuse optimally, and the leaves are then strained off automatically when pouring. Alternatively, tea leaves with tannin are placed in the filter holder and, once brewed, the plunger is fully depressed, thereby stopping the brewing process. It is also possible to make half a jug as the filter extends right down to the bottom.

Drip-free concept
The tea brewer also belongs to EVA SOLO’s family of drip-free jugs and flasks which in the past couple of years have won a host of international design prizes. In keeping with the other jugs and flasks, the tea brewer features a drip-free pouring lip and a flip-top lid which opens automatically when pouring. The neoprene cover keeps the tea hot while emphasising the beautiful, rounded shape of the flask. All the parts are dishwasher-proof except the cover which must be rinsed in warm water.

The tea brewer has been designed by Claus Jensen and Henrik Holbæk. It is supplied with a “tea shirt” (the neoprene cover) and two heat-resistant tumblers which show whether it is green, black or oolong tea you are drinking.
